Cain's work shows a continuing fascination with contextually embedded human relationships and their complex interactions; whilst these aspects act as his main focus and motivation for creating his original work, there has been a recent shift from traditional oil to large scale ink paintings. The concept of using 'negative space' is prevalent in his recent works.
“By using negative space the subjects in my paintings become part of their background. This interplays body language with contemporary fashion against old narrative.”
Cain sells his work worldwide and has been commissioned by institutes including the Business School at the University of Cambridge. Cain has most recently exhibited at Dame Catherine Arts and the Brick Lane Gallery in London.
